Wednesday 29 April
As a warm up for MardiGrass, the Nimbin Hemp Embassy calls all cannabis supporters to rally and march for drug law reform in Lismore on wed 29 April.
Gather outside Lismore Court House from midday to march to the office of NSW local Member of Parliament.
Nimbin’s MardiGrass organisers say they are ready for the big crowds expected to descend on the village this weekend. We start our annual protest tomorrow with our Mayday March from Lismore Court House to invite our local Members of Parliament to MardiGrass and remind them we are just like them, only we prefer weed. Janelle Saffin is sympathetic to at least medical use we know, but why not recreational? But is the National Party’s Kevin Hogan, who is up for re-election, ready to step out of the Nat’s drizabone and support us? We’ll find out on Wednesday. The march is departing the court house at 1 pm..please join us for cannabis law reform.
Friday 1 May
10:45am : Gather on the footpath outside Nimbin Hospital
11:00am : March for cannabis law reform from Nimbin Hospital across the road to the Police Station to deliver a request for them to treat us, and our choice of medicine and recreation, as part of everyday life – not a criminal matter.
