Brad Strut, hailing from Melbourne’s inner suburbs, brings his hip-hop roots from Melbourne’s Western and Eastern suburbs to the heart of Nimbin. With tracks like ‘A Good Thing’ from ‘The Authentic LP,’ he paints a vivid picture of Aussie life, seamlessly blending with the festival’s laid-back vibe. Strut’s journey through the Australian hip-hop scene, showcased in his groundbreaking albums, becomes a sonic bridge connecting the audience to the roots of the Nimbin MardiGrass celebration.
Joining the lineup is Coneheadz, an emerging duo featuring Bluntfield and East Coast Alien. Their mix of upbeat party anthems, herbal honing, and gritty narratives reflects the diverse culture of Nimbin. Bluntfield’s socially conscious and comical approach, coupled with East Coast Alien’s punk energy, resonates with tracks like ‘Right for Admission’ and ‘Fat Sesh,’ echoing the free-spirited ethos of the festival.
Mesc, a rising star in the Australian hip-hop galaxy, adds his magnetic stage presence and thought-provoking rhymes to the cannabis-infused atmosphere. His tracks, remixed by both Australian and UK hip-hop artists, become anthems for Nimbin MardiGrass, pulsating with the heartbeat of the community. He will also Be performing his new track with Wilfred – Don’t be a dog!
Shadow, moved from Durban, South Africa to Perth WA in 2008. Two years later he picked up a mic for the first time inspired by classic chip hop artists like Big L and Nas. Over the last 8 years he shaped his sound to an aggressive UK inspired Grime delivery that is both fierce and lyrical. At the same time he began to hone his live stage show, playing over 100 shows, at times underage sneaking into 18+ venues. He has supported for the likes of Dirty Dike, Jam Baxter and the rest of High Focus along with The Four Owls, D Double D & Preditah to name a few. In 2018 he announced his signing with iconic Australian rap label ‘Golden Era Records’ formed by Hilltop Hoods and boasting a roster of some of the best hip hop in the country including A.B. Original, The Funkoars, Jesswar, Skrub and more. In 2019 he supported Hilltop Hoods on a sold out National Arena tour and released his debut EP.
Doc Felix behind the turntables, the hip-hop, funk, and soul DJ/producer sets the groove. Known for touring with Australian hip-hop pioneers Bias B and Brad Strut, his beats become the backdrop to Nimbin MardiGrass, creating an immersive experience for festival-goers.
