About<\/strong>: Miles Hunt was nominated as the Lead Senate Candidate (NSW) for Legalise Cannabis for the Federal Election in 2025 \u2013 during his campaign he has experienced all many of emotions and feelings – from fear, loathing, love, connection, empathy, compassion, commitment, dedication, and a genuine desire for change. The experience has taught him much and he has met many interesting people along the way \u2013 not least from the dedicated supporters and volunteers of the Legalise Cannabis Party.<\/p>\n

The discussion will feature photos and videos of some of those people he met along the way, and the things he learned about campaigning, politics and human nature.\u00a0 This is a story about fighting for a better future \u2013 one that involves decriminalising nature and supporting the many functions of Hemp and the incredible Cannabis plant and Hemp.It is also about justice, and better laws for all – and about treating people who use Cannabis fairly and without shame. It is about embracing a plant that has been used for thousands of years medicinally, recreationally, spiritually and creatively.
\nAnd maybe, by the end of the festival, Miles will have been elected to the Australian Senate to represent the cannabis users of this country.<\/p>\n

Bio<\/strong>: Miles Hunt is the co-founder of the renowned drug harm minimisation charity, Unharm. Miles has dedicated his life to championing drug decriminalisation and legalisation, with a particular focus on medicinal and adult-use cannabis, pill testing and sniffer dog reform. Miles made national headlines when he courageously declared himself a “drug-taking lawyer” on the front page of the Sydney Morning Herald, using his platform to spotlight the urgent need for legislative change. As a practising lawyer, Miles often represented individuals charged with cannabis possession. His first-hand experience has solidified his belief that the legalisation of cannabis is long overdue. \u201cThe prohibition of cannabis has been one of the greatest failures of modern times\u201d, Miles asserts. \u201cLegalisation and regulation are essential for a fair and just society.
