Marty Bright

bush doof comedy jam

Over the past 6 years Marty Bright has taken his individual brand of physical and observational hybrid comedy across Australia and is a regular on the top stages in the country, sharing microphones with the likes of Dave Hughes, Fiona O’Loughlin, Matt Okine, Steve Hughes, Luke Heggie and Neel Kolhaktar to name a few.  He has been part of Sydney Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival as well as being hand picked for the prestigious Breakout Showcase, FRESH (Artists to Watch) and Sydney Comedy Festival Roadshow. A self professed hippy-ish silly billy,  Bright has his quirky view on the world to international stages as far and wide as Los Angeles , New York, Las Vegas, Toronto, Montreal, and New Zealand. Marty Bright has crafted out is own niche performing at alternative music festivals such as Nimbin Mardi Grass, Burning Seed, Festival of the Sun and many more. Performing with no shoes , in the woods seem to be one of his strong suits.

Glover & Sorrensen

“Twice as funny!”

Alan Glover and S Sorrensen, as well as officiating and commentating the Hemp Olympix during the day, will host the MardiGrass Comedy Show on Saturday night. This dynamic duo of cannabis comedy have performed their double act (Glover & Sorrensen) all around this wide deforesting land – at festivals, clubs, pubs and to random unsuspecting people in the car park. They are stalwarts of MardiGrass. Like Superman in stereo, they fight for truth, justice and the way home. And they’re funny. Very funny. Two blokes on the stage at the same time gives you twice the fun, twice the laughs.

Having toured every major comedy festival this side of the hemisphere he also has had a number of television & radio appearances. Using his wit & mischievous smile he’ll be sure to have you in hysterics. “Punchline Power” The Music. “..the creme de la chocolate of NZ Comedy” Theatreview NZ. TedX - How Racism Made me Funny

Fiona McGary

“No diamante-encrusted sandals”

Fiona McGary lives on the Gold Coast, but does not wear diamante-encrusted sandals. She’s different. Fiona’s comedy will put you at ease, loosen you up, draw you expectantly close – and then throw you back in your seat with laughter. She has been performing stand-up comedy for over 20 years, both throughout Australia and overseas, and her performances have featured in The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and The Sydney Comedy Festival. Fiona has also appeared on various ABC TV shows, FMVTV (Seven Network) and Stand Up Australia (The Comedy Channel). Her voice has also been heard on numerous radio stations including Triple M Breakfast show, Hit105 FM, Hot FM Gold Coast. And she has also featured on the popular Home Grown Humour series that was broadcast Australia wide. Yep, she’s been there and done that. She even performed at the MardiGrass Comedy Show many years ago in the early days of her career – and now she’s coming back! Hooray!

Paul McMahon

“Hippycritical”

Hailing from the Byron Bay, where healing crystals trump diamantes, Paul McMahon explores the lifestyles of hippies, and shines a light on our floundering world. Paul has been a regular on the comedy circuit. He has performed alongside Tommy Dean, Frank Woodley, Steady Eddy, Ronny Chieng, Austen Tayshus, Tom Gleeson, Mick Malloy, Dave O’Neil, Chris Franklin, Akmel Saleh and opened for US comedian Doug Stanhope on his Australian tour.  Paul is a regular performer at the Sit Down Comedy Club in Brisbane and has performed to large audiences at Woodford Folk Festival, Nimbin MardiGrass, Falls Festival. His solo show “Hippycritical’ featured at the Brisbane Fringe Comedy Festival. Paul is the polite, quietly spoken guy-next-door who says what he really thinks on stage. He has a knack for observation and is deceptively laid-back on stage. Yep, Paul McMahon is a funny bloke and will be at his belly-laughing best at the MardiGrass Comedy Show.
