Battle of the Heavyweights!
The final tally of the 2005 Marijuana
Music Recorded Track Award is 103
recorded track entries from around the world! The nominees reveal
a
head to head battle between the two winners of the 2004 Marijuana
Music
Awards in the this years Album
of Year category - Potsongs by Herb
Superb (2004 Winner of Best Recorded Track Award) versus My Dog
with
Doug Johnson (2004 Winner of Best Live Performance Award).
The winner
will be revealed on Sunday 1 May at Peace Park after Nimbin Mardi
Grass
Rally, along with the winners of the 16 other Recorded Track Award
categories.
It's a month away from the eagerly
awaited arrival in Nimbin of The
Herbillest, the popular rap group from Philadelphia! Nimbin has
been
listening to Nick Grassmoke of The Herbillest (pictured) through
the
Nim-FM airwaves. The Herbillest will be performing from Saturday
30
April through to Monday 2 May at the Rainbow Cafe during Mardi
Grass
and on Friday 29 May at other Nimbin venues. Danielle, a member
of B
True, The Herbillest dance group will be holding a dance workshop
on
Monday 2 May.
The Herbillest, along with other
international and local musicians will
be entering the Marijuana Music Live Performance Award Heats at
the
Rainbow Cafe Sat 31 April. Heats will run at 11am, 1.30pm and
4pm Sat
30 April at the Rainbow Cafe. Finals will be held at Peace Park
after
the Nimbin Mardi Grass Rally on Sun 1 May. If you're part of the
rally
audience you'll also be judging the Best Live Performance Award
winner
