COVID-19 Safety Update

We encourage and support all MardiGrass attendees to take extra precautions. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Bringing your own facemask and wear it while out in public places over the weekend. – Please note, it is not mandatory
  • Bringing extra hand sanitiser for personal use
  • Try to maintain social distancing where practical and follow all instructions from Jungle Patrol Marshals or police who will be present throughout the event to keep you safe.
  • Please note that you will be required to sign in using a QR code each time you enter Plantem Park or the Town Hall. COVID-19 check-in is mandatory for the event, so please be patient with us.
  • If you are participating in the parade, you will also need to check using a QR code prior to the event.
  • If you have fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath please do not attend the event. Let us know and we will provide you with a refund on your tickets.

Program Update

2021 will be our 29th annual MardiGrass protesting to end the war on cannabis. It will be an all-Aussie MardiGrass this year, as we won’t be flying in any overseas speakers. They may join us online but essentially we hope to bring together a bunch of Australian experts on all things Cannabis.

We’re planning a COVID-safe MardiGrass this year, but who knows what will be going on by the first weekend in May. It could be jabs all round or rampant Corona so obviously we have to wait ‘n see. If we have to cancel the event due to COVID-19 you will be able to get a refund of your tickets or hold them over until next year.

There will be a big focus on the ridiculous saliva testing by police of drivers searching for minute traces of THC. These driving laws show clearly just how serious the Government is about NOT supporting medical cannabis. Fiona Patten is coming to MardiGrass and by then she might have the Victorian driving laws changed for legal cannabis users which would be a start at least. Ex Magistrate David Heilpern and solicitor Steve Bolt will join Fiona for a Q and A on drug driving.

There will also be a special focus on Veterans with PTSD gaining access to cannabis and the government’s lack of support on that. The suicide rate of ex military people is shameful and we know cannabis could help many enormously.

COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION

Our priority is to have a safe MardiGrass

MardiGrass is in regular communications with Government Authorities regarding our COVID-19 Safety Plan. The situation is very changeable, and we will keep you updated with more information regarding our COVID-19 Safety Plan as we get closer to MardiGrass weekend.

We are committed to ensuring your health and safety at MardiGrass, and will have cleaning products in use in all areas, and a cleaning team going about their work throughout the weekend.

If the event is unable to proceed by Government order, MardiGrass will offer a refund on your tickets.
